What this site is, and what it isn't
This is information, not medical advice
Everything here is educational reference drawn from published sources and cited so you can check it. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it cannot see your situation. Your doctor, midwife, pharmacist, or paediatrician knows things about you that this site never will, and where they differ from anything here, follow them.
Nothing on this site should be used to delay seeking care. If you think something is wrong, contact your maternity team or emergency services.
What we promise about accuracy
We publish figures only where a named source states them, we say which edition we used, and we publish what each source gets wrong alongside what it gets right. Where a source states nothing, we publish nothing rather than estimate.
That said, sources are revised, we make mistakes, and a page can go stale between a source's update and ours. We do not warrant that everything here is complete or current, and we would rather hear about an error than have you assume we already know.
Using the site
You may read, share, and link to anything here. You may not scrape the site at a scale that degrades it for other people, republish substantial portions as your own, or present our content as medical advice from you.
Much of the underlying data is public domain or openly licensed and is credited on the Sources page — where that is the case, the original is a better thing to cite than us.
Your account and your data
You are responsible for keeping your login secure. What you record in the tools is yours; we store it so it works across your devices, and we will delete it on request. We may remove content or accounts that are used to harass others or to break these terms.
Advertising
Ads are served by Google, not chosen by us one by one, and an ad appearing on a page is not an endorsement by us. Ads never appear on urgent help; the kick counter, contraction timer, symptom tracker, medicine tracker or mental-health check; account and sign-in pages; or our policy, sources and contact pages. Editorial content is never paid for.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of what you read here — which is the honest position for any reference work, and the reason every clinical page on this site tells you to confirm with a clinician.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
These terms were last reviewed on 27 September 2026. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than applied quietly.
